Workcamp in Kenya, for a children educational project and environmental activities.
Workcamp in Kenya, in Maasai Mara Game Reserve, in a project of GVDA in partnership with Associazione di Promozione Sociale Joint. GVDA is a non profit and nongovernmental organization established in 1997 in Kenya to promote peace, global citizenship and community development and cultural exchange through international volunteering programs by empowering young people to advance community development and strengthen multicultural understanding increase cooperation between Kenyan communities and people living in developed world through a range of development programs.
The workcamp project “WHV Maasai Mara National Game Reserve” (code STV 07/2) aims to give support to the local community of the Reserve, through support of educational activities for children and youngsters. The volunteers will collaborate with the school staff, they will help in maintenance the school building and it will be asked to participate in several activities about environment.
In particular, the activities of the volunteers will be focused on:
- educational support in different school subjects (mostly about English Language);
- organization of activities for children (art, music, playing, drawing,…);
- maintenance of the school building;
- planting new trees in the green areas of the local community;
- promotion of envirnmental issues.
The accomodation during the project will be in the school dormitory, electricity and running water will be available. The food will be provided by the Host Organization, 3 meals per day, the volunteers should cook them by themselves.
This project is available in one single period: from the 4th to the 26th July 2017.
The fee of the workcamp is 300€, which includes food, accomodation, pick up from the airport, orientation and materials expenses. Moreover, after being selected for this, the volunteers should give 80€ to the Sending Organization, for participating fee and for subscription to Associazione Joint. We kindly remind you that all other expenses (travel costs, Visa processing cost and insurance) are at the expense of the volunteers.
